Drainage Study
A drainage study is often required to obtain your city or county's approval for a new residential or commercial project. A drainage study is generally required for projects near a pre-designated natural drainage course (NDC) or any enhanced drainage course such as a concrete wash or storm drain system. The purpose of the study is to determine first of all, if your project could potentially be affected in any way, by the natural or enhanced course that rainwater or runoff presently takes or in turn, to determine how your project will affect these courses. Secondly, if it is determined that your project may in fact be affected by these factors, a drainage study will provide our engineers with enough information to determine if there is viable engineering solution that can be implemented to satisfy the requirements of your city or county's planning department and keep the water flowing where it is supposed to flow. Basically, the questions that a drainage study will answer are, Where does the water come from? and Where does the water end up?
